Trainer AI application and the website at trainer-ai.app. This Privacy Policy describes what information we access and collect, how we use it, how long we retain it, and the choices you have. By using Trainer AI, you agree to this policy.

Information We Collect and Access

We collect and process the following categories of information when you use Trainer AI:

• Account and profile: email address, display name, username, authentication identifiers (via Firebase Authentication), sign-in provider, language preference, gender, and date of birth (if you provide them).
• Fitness and body profile: height, weight, activity level, fitness goal, and pace settings you enter during onboarding or in settings.
• Nutrition and meals: meal descriptions, calories, macronutrients (protein, carbohydrates, fat), meal photos you capture or upload, barcode scans, bookmarks, and AI-generated meal analysis (labels, summaries, and health ratings).
• Daily wellness logs: water intake, manually logged body weight, and additional step counts you add in the app.
• Workout and training data: training programs, exercises, workout sessions, sets, repetitions, weights lifted, and session notes.
• Subscription and billing: subscription status and purchase identifiers processed by Apple App Store or Google Play (we do not receive your full payment card details).
• Device and technical data: device type, operating system version, app version, platform, and crash/diagnostic logs (via Firebase Crashlytics) to maintain reliability and fix errors.
• Usage data: how you interact with app features (e.g., screens visited, feature usage) to improve performance and user experience.

Health and Fitness Data

Trainer AI is a health and fitness application. In addition to data you enter manually, we may access health-related data from your device only after you grant permission:

• Steps: daily step count from Apple Health (iOS) or Health Connect (Android), used to show activity progress and daily goals.
• Sleep: sleep duration and sleep stages (light, deep, REM, and time asleep) from Apple Health, used to calculate a sleep score displayed in the app.
• Body weight: body mass readings from Apple Health or Health Connect, used to display your latest weight and support nutrition calculations.

How we use health data:

• To display your daily activity, sleep, and weight in the app.
• To calculate nutrition targets, progress rings, and personalized recommendations.
• To improve app features related to fitness and wellness tracking.

Health data from Apple Health or Health Connect is read on your device. We do not sell health or fitness data. We do not use health data for advertising. You can revoke access at any time in your device settings (iOS: Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices → Trainer AI; Android: Health Connect app → App permissions → Trainer AI).

How We Use Your Information

We use the information described above to:

• Provide, operate, and maintain Trainer AI features.
• Authenticate your account and secure access to your data.
• Personalize nutrition targets, workout plans, and in-app content.
• Analyze meals from photos or text using AI services.
• Process subscriptions and restore purchases.
• Monitor usage, diagnose crashes, and improve reliability.
• Respond to support requests and legal obligations.

Data Storage and Retention

We store your account data and app content on secure servers while your account is active so you can access your history across devices.

Retention periods:

• Active account: profile, nutrition records, workout history, and related data are retained for as long as your account remains active and you continue to use the service.
• Account deletion: when you request account deletion (via the Delete Account page at trainer-ai.app/delete-account or by emailing support@trainer-ai.app), we delete your personal data and associated content within 30 days of confirming your request.
• Backups and logs: encrypted backups and server logs may be retained for up to 90 days after deletion before being permanently erased, unless a longer period is required by law.
• Crash and diagnostic data: anonymized crash reports are retained for up to 90 days for debugging purposes.

You may delete individual meals or other content within the app at any time; deleted items are removed from our active systems promptly.

Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information or health data.

We may share data with trusted service providers who help us operate Trainer AI, including:

• Cloud hosting and database providers.
• Firebase (Google) for authentication and crash reporting.
• AI service providers to analyze meal photos and text (only the content you submit for analysis).
• Apple and Google for in-app purchase and subscription processing.

These providers process data on our behalf under confidentiality obligations and only as needed to perform their services. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights and users' safety.

Your Choices and Rights

You can:

• Access and update profile and biometrics in the app settings.
• Revoke Apple Health or Health Connect permissions in device settings.
• Delete individual meals and content within the app.
• Request full account and data deletion at trainer-ai.app/delete-account or by contacting support@trainer-ai.app.
• Opt out of push notifications in device or app settings.

Depending on your location, you may have additional rights (such as access, correction, or portability). Contact us to exercise these rights.

Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and access controls on our servers. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children's Privacy

Trainer AI is not intended for children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Contact us if you believe a child has provided data and we will delete it.

International Users

Your information may be processed and stored in countries other than your own, where data protection laws may differ. By using Trainer AI, you consent to this transfer where permitted by applicable law.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised policy on trainer-ai.app/privacy and update the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
